a churchwide event. This fall, pastors Ron and Dave will present a five-sermon
series based on Rick Warren’s The
Purpose Driven Life: What on Earth am I Here For? (Sept 7, 14, 21, 28 and Oct 5). This well-known and widely-read
text will help us engage in the exploration of God’s call on our lives, as
individuals and as members of God’s church. To facilitate a deep and meaningful
pursuit of the answers to the title question, we are asking everyone to join a
small group for the duration of the sermon series. Training of discussion-leaders for
these groups has already begun and the Holy Spirit is filling the church with
eager anticipation.
This is what you need to do:
1) Let the church office know that you are committed to
participating.Call 289-4431 or email Lisa Jackson. Please leave your name and
the best means of reaching you (email and/or phone number). [remember that if you have to miss a Sunday
sermon, they are available forlistening online: www.firstpresmuncie.org]
2) Tell the church office whether you prefer to be part of a small
group on Sunday morning between services or some other time during the week.
Please be specific about your availability and preferences for alternate meeting days
and times.
3) Get a copy of the book and begin reading the selection for Day
1 on August 24. The church will be making two hundred copies available for a small
donation. These will include the reading and sermon schedule. You can also
purchase used copies online for as little as $1.99 plus shipping.
4) Be on the lookout for more details and anticipate a personal
invitation from your small group leader.
5) Start praying now for the coming
spiritual growth and transformation of First Presbyterian Church in Muncie.
