 Xocenpich Trip News

Thirty five missionaries from our church will travel to Xocenpich, Mexico on March 21 through March 28.  Among the 35 missionaries, 25 are new to Xocenpich, and 12 are youth ( 1 college student, 8 high school students and 3 middle school students).  We are accepting donations of toothpaste, toothbrushes and vitamins to take with us.

REMINDERS FOR OUR MEXICO MISSIONARIES

Informational meetings will be held Tuesday, March 10, at 7 pm in Fellowship Hall.
Other dates to note: We will be commissioned on Sunday, March 15, during worship (we'll let you know which service); we will pack food and weigh baggage here at the church on Thursday, March 19 (time to be announced).

In addition to the informational meetings, be looking for Monday eMails from Pastor Dave which will challenge us and help us prepare our hearts and minds for the trip.

Buenos Noches, all,

In an email to the Mexico missionaries dated February 16, Pastor Dave reminded all of us that God is going with us.  God will give us the strength we need to do what God is sending us to do (even if our ideas are different from God's!).  Pastor Dave encouraged us not to worry about looking silly, messing up, being lonely or getting sick, because God has already given us the gifts we need and God will be with us no matter what we face.

If you would like to be a part of this trip by committing to pray for a specific missionary while we are in Xocenpich (March 21-28), please contact me (eMail).  Our missionaries include:

Olga Butler, Franky Voss, Alexa Voss, Dan Alexander, Cathy Alexander, Cassie Alexander, Jack Alexander, John Linder, Dana Linder, Lauren Linder, Kirsten Linder, Pastor Lee, Jiwu Lee, Pastor Dave, Rachel Jewett, Pastor Carrie Jo, Marty Kendrick, Richard Bellaver, Julie Gentry, Dan House, Jack McFarland, Brad Southwick, Jill Moores, Joe Eskew, Marie Burkey, John Burkey, Marilyn Jamieson, Diane Brooks, Tim Brooks, Ken Brooks, Alex Swickard and Nancy Swickard.

The Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you.  2 Thessalonians 3:3

Buenos Noches, Amigos,

The mission trip to Mexico is right around the corner!  I am excited to report that we have put together a Bible school program about Jonah and the Whale.  Diane Brooks has translated our skit into Spanish and Judy McFarland has created a whale out of a sheet which will swallow our Jonah!  We will take a bean bag game (Jonah bean bags will be tossed into the whale), coloring pages of Jonah (translation again by Diane Brooks), and kazoos!  Doesn’t this sound like fun!

I still need a few items to use as props:

1.  a captain’s hat

2.  fishing hats for the men on the boat

3.  a blue sheet (flat, full or queen) for the ocean

  1. a beige sheet (flat, full or queen) for the city of Nineveh

If you can donate any of these items, please let me know.

Have a great weekend!

Thea
