JEWETT GIRLS LEARN GREAT LIFE SKILLS
Dear Friends and Family,
As I promised in your thank you letter, I wanted to share how the National American Miss Indiana pageant went this past weekend. Thank you again for sponsoring me and helping me go to the pageant. Your prayers and gifts meant a lot to me. The pageant was really, really, really, really fun. I made new friends, saw old ones, laughed, talked, performed, and the best part was standing on stage in-front of the crowd in my teal beaded pretty dress. I stood nervously and excitedly on the front of the stage during the final performance in my favorite dress ever. It was fun to win 1st runner up for Thank You note this year. Next they started awarding all the Optional trophies. In my head I kept saying, “I really want this” and then I was called up as 2nd runner up in Actress and won Spokes Model. For the actress competition I did a Hubba Bubba Bubble Gum commercial and for Spokesmodel I wrote a speech called My Dreams, gave it at the podium, and modeled a suit. Then I couldn’t believe when I heard my number called for a rose to represent the top 15 in the NAM Pre-Teen division. That meant I could be in the top five or win. I was really nervous and my mouth was dry. My cheeks hurt from smiling so much. While I was standing there I was thinking what my reaction might be if they called my name. Then it happened, my name was called for 1st Runner-up in my age division and I saw my mom stand up and scream. I was so excited and very tired from the long weekend and all the pictures that I posed for.
I had a wonderful experience participating in the state pageant and have learned great life skills. I qualified 3 times to go to Nationals but after much prayer and discussion with my parents, we have decided not to go to the National All American Miss pageant in California. However, I am looking forward to representing National American Miss as the 1st Runner up Pre-Teen 2008, Spokesmodel 2008 winner, and/or any part of the pageant/princess experience at YOUR next event or activity. Just let me know!
Thank you again for your support!

Your 2008 1st Runner-up National American Miss Pre-Teen Indiana.
Dear Family and Friends,
Hi! I want to tell you about the National America Miss Pageant and what I did. I had a lot of fun doing the Optional Contests. I participated in Actress, Casual Wear Modeling, and Talent. Doing a commercial for the Actress contest was my favorite part. My commercial was for Limited Too and I got to talk about being jealous of my big sister’s clothes. I was nervous before I went on but then it was fun to be on stage. For Casual Wear I got to pick my own outfit and it was a blue shirt, white tennis shoes, black capri sweat pants, a green hoodie sweater with boom box print, and headphones for an accessory. They put on music and I walked across stage and posed in fun ways. For Talent I did a tap dance to Sea Cruise from the movie Nemo and from my Premiere dance class recital.
For the main pageant it was awesome to have my Dad escort me on stage while I was wearing a pretty dress. I liked doing the Jr. Pre-Teen group dance in the final pageant to the song, Nobody’s Perfect from Hannah Montana and I got a little crazy. It was also fun walking across stage in my fancy dress by myself holding my state finalist trophy. Then I stood a long time in “pretty feet” and got tired while smiling for the rest of the awards. But it was fun seeing the top 15 and the queen’s court especially since one of my new friends was in the court. The best part of the whole pageant was being able to do it and like my mom says coming out of my “shell”!

Thank you again for cheering me on and sponsoring me!
