Readers name Star Performers

As a member of both the Paul Revere Chapter, NSDAR, and the Valentine Hollingsworth Chapter, NS Colonial Dames, 17th Century, I would like to nominate as Star Performers all those have worked to bring into being Muncie's first Stand Down for Homeless Veterans at the Muncie Mission on Friday, Sept. 5. It could not have been done without the support and co-sponsorship of Muncie Mission Ministries with Ray Raines and Don Ford and the Marion VA with Naomi NiCastro. Groups in the community responding to Mary Ann Estep's presentations include: Amvets Auxiliary Post 12, Veterans Council, Exchange Club, VFW Auxiliary Post 651 and Mr. and Mrs. Salmon. Services will be rendered by Dr. Gregory K. Gahl, American Health Network; Dr. Jeanine Green, dentist; Ball State ROTC, Action Inc., Center Township Trustee Marilyn Walker, Christian Ministries, Meridian Services, Work One Upward Bound, Lifestream Services and MITS. Also to be mentioned are Noah Estep Jr., chief driver and lifter, as well as those members of DAR and Colonial Dames who worked and contributed. Other steering committee members are Marilyn Carey, Linda Ralu Wolf, Peg and Dick Edwards, Mike and Jayne Grandison and Jim Coker. All concerned applaud Mary Ann Estep for her determination, through health problems and household emergencies, to organize and pull together all the elements needed.
