Gary Demaree, president of Muncie Rotary Club, has announced the chairmen of club committees for the 2008-09 Rotary year, effective July 1.

They are:

Club service: Bob Gortner, retired professor of business, Taylor University.

Community service: Gay Nation, Paws Inc.

International service: Joann McKinney, Horizon Convention Center.

Membership: Steve Bassett, General Truck Sales.

Programs: Marlin Creasy, retired education administrator.

Rotary Foundation: Jeff Imel, Ontario Systems Corporation.

Public relations: Tom Farris, T.L. Farris & Associates.

Newsletter/Web site: Molly Robertson, Indiana GED on TV.

Membership/orientation: Steve Bassett, General Truck Sales.

Greeting/hospitality: Lindsey Arthur, Muncie Habitat for Humanity, and Elissa McDonald, Muncie Symphony Orchestra.

Sergeants at Arms: Bob Myers, Emens Auditorium and Pruis Hall, David Gobble, gerontology consultant, Ed Walsh, Burkhart Advertising, Cathy Clark, Muncie YMCA.
