Ball State commencement is Saturday


About 2,600 Ball State University students will receive degrees at spring commencement ceremonies on Saturday.

The hour-long main ceremony will begin at 10 a.m. on the Arts Terrace, with the processional starting at 9:50 a.m.

Diane Auer Jones, assistant secretary for post-secondary education at the U.S. Department of Education, will be the guest speaker at the main ceremony, and will receive the President's Medal of Distinction.

Retired faculty member and former ABC News correspondent Steve Bell and Vectren Corp. Chairman Niel C. Ellerbrook will receive honorary doctor of laws degrees, and Center for Leadership Development President Dennis Bland will receive the President's Medal.
