HOME KOREAN CONGREGATION

Welcome Home!
2008 Youth Mission Trip to Ten Mile, Tennessee

Hello, one and all,

The youth missionaries (all 26 of them!) and their four chaperones are home and grateful for a safe and rewarding week.  Thank you for praying for us during our time away.  The kids (and adults) did a lot of hard work, enjoyed great fellowship and grew closer to God.

I have attached a group picture taken during our picnic on our last night.  See how we are all still smiling?

Counting it all as joy!

September 20

Here’s an addition to our YCTC schedule for September…

Let’s meet at Muncie Civic Theatre on Saturday, September 20 at 7:30 pm, for God’s Favorite, Neil Simon's adaptation of the Book of Job.  The story, which takes place at the Benjamin mansion on the North Shore of Long Island, includes a tycoon, his wife, a messenger from God, a prodigal son, and a pair of dim-witted siblings. One night a messenger from God, Sidney Lipton, arrives and as in the biblical story, tries desperately to get Joe Benjamin to renounce God. When Joe refuses, he is visited by all the afflictions imaginable, including lightning strikes, health problems, and even seeing the cardboard box factory burn to the ground. This hilarious story combines Neil Simon’s ability to bring wit, humor, and all manner of entertainment into one fantastic play.

"Awesomely funny.... The work of a man of vision. It'll make you laugh out loud." -- N.Y. Daily News.

"His jokes have a kind of hilarious deadpan ecstasy and, even better, are taken from life." -- N.Y. Times.

Tickets are $15 for adults (bring your parents!) and $5 for youth.  Parents can drop-you-off/pick-you-up at the theatre.  (Youth can call parents using my cell when the play is over. Dan and I will always wait with the kids until everyone is collected by a parent.)  Let me know if I should reserve a seat for you.

PS:  Since we are doing this on Saturday night, there will be no meeting on Sunday, September 21.  I haven’t forgotten about Ivanhoe’s…I’ll get it on the schedule!

September 28 Meeting (more details to come; check your email)

September 28 Crop Walk; we’ll eat lunch together here and then
