WINCHESTER - Gary Lynn Fine, 61, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at home after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

Gary was born on March 11, 1949 in Loudon, TN to the late Nola Marie (Arden) and James Phillip Fine, Jr.

Gary graduated from Winchester Community High School in 1968. He married his high school sweetheart, Clarissa (Cris) Loney, on March 13, 1971.

Gary will be sadly missed by his wife of thirty-nine years, Cris Fine; a son, Matthew Fine (wife, Taryn); grandsons, Aaron, Adam, and a new grandbaby due any day, Muncie; a son, Michael Fine (wife, Suzie); granddaughters, Amy and Macy, Fishers; mother-in-law, Jane Stigleman, Winchester; father-in-law, Richard Loney, Clearwater, FL; brother-in-law, Roger Loney (wife, Cecelia), Noblesville; brother-in-law, Chip Loney (wife, Ruth), Winchester; several nieces and nephews and many dear friends and co-workers that are like chosen family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his step father-in-law, James Stigleman.

From 1977 until 1997 Gary was a fireman for the City of Winchester, and retired as a captain. For the past twenty-three years, Gary was the compliance manager for Best Way/Randolph Farms, Inc. (IN) and AZO Services, Inc. (MI). Gary served in the Indiana Army National Guard. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion.

Gary enjoyed spending time with family and close friends. He loved frequent visits from his kids and grandbabies. Gary also took pleasure in watching sports, and especially rooting on his son, Matt's, Muncie Central Boys' Basketball team. He also was an avid Notre Dame Football fan.

Funeral services for Gary will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Franklin St., in Winchester with Rev. Cherie Isakson officiating.

Friends and relatives may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, an education fund for "Papaw's Babies" is being setup for his beloved grandchildren at Mutual Bank in Winchester.
