Linda Cheryl (Foster) Shay, 62


Anderson - Linda Cheryl (Foster) Shay, 62, passed away Friday morning, February 12, 2010 at St. John's Hospital in Anderson, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was born May 7, 1947 in Muncie, the daughter of Wilma (Newport) Foster and Earl Foster. Linda grew up in the Muncie area. She graduated from Cowan High School in 1965 and Butler University in 1987. Linda had worked at Ball State University; Maxon Corporation and Home Instead Senior Care.

She enjoyed researching family genealogy and wrote a book on the Newport family history. Linda also enjoyed music; the arts and furniture design and construction.

Survivors include one sister, Paula Major, (husband-Joseph), Farmland; two brothers, Jerry Foster, (wife-Tamara), Farmland and John Foster, (wife-Deborah), Muncie; one niece, Kate Mathias, (husband-Jason) and two nephews, Matt Foster and Nick Foster.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Dee Ann Foster.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Pastor Carrie Jo Miller officiating.

Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday or after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
