Paul Norman Nottingham, 86

MUNCIE – Paul Norman Nottingham, 86, left our world early Saturday morning, September 15, 2007, to join his loving wife and soul mate Marjorie Jean. He passed away at Westminster Village, Muncie.

He was born December 23, 1920 in Muncie, the son of Carl A. and Edna (Luick) Nottingham. He was a graduate of Muncie Central High School and attended Purdue University.

Paul was owner of Nottingham Pontiac, along with his wife, they operated the business for thirty-nine years in Marion and Muncie, retiring in 1990.

He was associated with General Motors Corporation for twenty-nine years and ten years with Chrysler Corporation.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as deacon; Paul Harris Fellowship and worked with The Young Men’s Christian Association and a member of the Board of Directors from January of 1956 for three years.

Paul was a member of the Samaritan Lodge F &AM, Marion; Scottish Rite Valley of Ft. Wayne; Muncie York Rite; O.E.S., Muncie and the Murat Shrine Club, Indianapolis. He also was Past President of New Car Automobile Dealers of Indiana, Award of Appreciation and Director of the Automobile Dealers Association; past president of the Rotary Club, Muncie and life member of the Order of Elks, Muncie.

Mr. Nottingham is survived by two daughters, Janet Sue Hartley, (husband-Phillip), Syracuse and Carol Jean Ray, (husband-Ron), Muncie; three grandchildren, Lisa Summer, (husband-Richard), Tucson, Arizona, Jeff Mesaros, Syracuse and Marc Mesaros, (wife-Shannah), Yorktown; five great grandchildren, Bailey and Wesley Summer, Clay and Kaitlyn and Laney Mesaros; many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife of sixty-five years, Marjorie Jean (Armstrong) Nottingham.

Services will be 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Dr. Ron Naylor officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Elm Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 17, 2007 at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
