A Festival of Hymns: The Writers Tell Their Stories

Sunday, October 28, 11:00 a.m.
A Festival of Hymns: The Writers Tell Their Stories
is a unique festival service that features significant hymn writers through the ages, from the fourth century through the twentieth century, telling their own stories in the first person. This special one-hour program, presented at the 11 o’clock worship service, is intended to enhance our understanding of the great heritage of Christian hymnody. Some have called the hymnal “ourother holy book,” second in importance to the Bible, but containing the same good news, and beautiful words of prayer, praise, and adoration to the triune God. Sing along with the choir as we celebrate the contribution of the great hymn writers of the past and present!
