Holy Stitchers (Meets the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the Month at 5:30 PM)
FREE KNITTING OR CROCHETING LESSONS
Our Holy Stitchers group includes Master Teacher Margaret Montano plus many other teachers who have been knitting and/or crocheting most of their lives. I can tell you from my own experience they are not only incredibly skilled but also incredibly patient and encouraging—and terrific at fixing mistakes. What are we stitching? Shawls and lap robes for those having health crises or celebrating a happy event. We call them prayer shawls for they come filled with our prayers for the recipients. We also knit/crochet colorful squares which we then stitch together into wonderfully soft, warm blankets for the Christian Ministries’ blanket chest—going to those in Delaware County in need. These also come filled with our prayers for the recipients. While we stitch, we also enjoy talking, catching up on each other’s doings, praying. All are invited to join us—the skilled and the unskilled. We have extra needles and lots of yarn—just bring yourself. We meet from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of every month in my office (106A In the North Lobby, turn right. At the end of the hall, turn left.) In September, meeting dates are Sept. 2 and 16. Call me at 289-4431 for more information --Pastor Carrie Jo
